Eddie Booth BA Dip UD MRTPI IHBCDirectorEddie Booth trained as a town planner and urban designer. He worked for the Department of the Environment and local authorities in London and Yorkshire before joining English Heritage as Historic Areas Adviser in 1986. At English Heritage his work involved historic towns in the West Midlands and in the South West. Later, he spent three years dealing with London casework. Past chairman of the IHBC, Eddie lectures frequently and has been involved in a number of public inquiries, including the CPO hearing for Apethorpe in Northamptonshire. He is particularly interested in urban regeneration, grant schemes, policy research and the law. |

Chezel Bird Dip Arch Dip UP RIBA MRTPI IHBCDirectorChezel Bird trained as an architect and town planner and worked for the Greater London Council for ten years, initially as a “conservation student”, but later supervising repairs to listed buildings before returning to the Historic Buildings Division as a statutory casework officer. In 1985 she joined English Heritage as Historic Areas Advisor for the East Midlands, and after 1990 became responsible for conservation areas in the South East. Chezel’s enthusiasms include the historical development of settlements and the interpretation of urban character, and she often provides temporary development control advice to local authorities. |

Susan Grier MBA Business ManagementPractice ManagerSusan Grier joined The Conservation Studio in September 2006 with a background in the commercial world, working mainly for BAA. Her primary responsibility is to ensure that jobs run according to the agreed programme, that budgetary controls are maintained, and that individual members of staff are not overloaded. |

Christopher Catling MA FSA FRSA MIFAConsultantChristopher Catling has a background in archaeology, community projects, education and the historical environment. Past director of Heritage Link, he now works part time for The Conservation Studio, on a variety of schemes including conservation area appraisals, grant bids and research projects. |

Hannah Waugh BAHannah Waugh has joined The Conservation Studio for three months work experience from July to September. Hannah has recently graduated from Cambridge after studying for her BA in History of Art, and M.Phil. in History of Art and Architecture. |
