The Conservation Studio is a specialised planning and architectural practice that works principally for local authorities and other public sector organisations, such as English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund, and charitable trusts. We provide advice on urban regeneration, historic buildings and conservation areas.
The Conservation Studio was first established in Sussex in 1994 and moved to Gloucestershire in 2003. The practice works with a variety of consultants, including archaeologists, conservation planners and environmentalists, according to the requirements of the brief. In addition, our team in Cirencester is supplemented by two part-time graphic designers and a practice manager.
Both directors, Eddie Booth and Chezel Bird, have worked for English Heritage and local authorities in the past, so they understand the difficulties faced with allocating scarce resources to an ever-increasing workload. They favour a collaborative approach to projects, involving the local community, whenever required, through workshops, presentations, and public exhibitions.
